"The American justice system was founded upon the principle of justice for all and has a rich heritage of support for civil liberties. It has aspired toward impartial judgement - justice which is blind to gender, race and religion - as it struggled to achieve a balance between personal freedom and the needs of society. Today, as our civil liberties are questioned in the name of national security, let us remember the achievements of our justice system and celebrate the principles upon which it was founded."

[Audience Response]
"America is a multi-cultural melting-pot of races, religions and ideologies. Every person who walks on this land adds their own rhythms, melodies and lyrics to American music. What better way to celebrate our country and our heritage than by placing our music into perspective and acknowledging the diverse nations of people that contributed to it."
